The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Senior Communications Partner to be part of our Industry, Strategy and Partnerships Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The Senior Communications Partner is part of the Communication and Digital Services Branch. This team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to deliver best-practice and innovative communication and digital services across the Department of Primary Industries and Regions. This role is focused on delivering high-level communications with a focus on marketing activities for the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program.

The Senior Communications Partner is strategic, agile, and adaptable and is able to quickly determine the most appropriate communications activities and output to achieve optimal outcomes and align to the strategic priorities of the government and department. This role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and coordination of effective strategies and activities requiring effective engagement with diverse stakeholders, exceptional verbal and written communication skills and creative flair to ensure engaging communications reach intended audiences.

As a skilled, experienced professional, the Senior Communications Partner identifies communications requirements in collaboration with business areas and utilises the skills of the broader Communications Branch to effect desired outcomes.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • Opportunity up to June 2025
  • TWO Part time opportunities available - 22.5 hours per week

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver’s license
  • Out of hours work will be, and inter / intrastate travel may be, required.
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

Remuneration

ASO6 - $97,022 min - $102,626  (adjusted to working hours) max per annum, plus superannuation
